Any combination of 5 sessions can be booked for a total of $500, for a savings of $250.

Psychotherapy Sessions and Fees

Sessions are 50 minutes in length  and are typically scheduled on a weekly basis, especially at the beginning of treatment, in order to build rapport and develop treatment goals. As treatment progresses, sessions may be reduced or increased depending on your current stressors and lifestyle.

In the first few sessions, background information is gathered, challenges are discussed, and lifestyle habits are identified in order to create a comprehensive assessment. The length of treatment varies from person to person, and we will collaboratively discuss an appropriate plan that includes continued support and relapse prevention.

The law protects the relationship between a psychotherapist and a client, and information discussed in sessions cannot be disclosed without written consent. There are limitations to this law, however, that require me to breach confidentiality and contact the appropriate authorities. These limitations are:

  • Suspected child abuse

  • Suspected elder/dependent adult abuse

  • A client threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s with an intended plan to carry out these threats

  • A client reporting intentions to harm him or herself and refusing to cooperate in ensuring his or her safety

  • A court subpoena

In all of these situations, I will make every effort to remain transparent and enlist your cooperation.

Please check your coverage carefully to determine specific requirements and to what extent you are covered for mental health benefits from an out-of-network provider.

Credit card (AMEX, Discover, MasterCard, Visa), personal check, Venmo. Fees must be paid in full at time of session.

Cancellation Policy
Scheduled appointments must be cancelled with 24-hours advance notice. In the event of a cancellation made with less than 24-hour notice, or a no show to a scheduled appointment, the client will be charged the full fee for the session.  If you arrive late for an appointment, you will still be charged the full session price and the session will end at the originally scheduled end time.

Integration Sessions and Fees

Sessions are 50 minutes in length  and are typically scheduled on a weekly basis. Integration work is typically short-term and completed in six to ten sessions. Prep work for upcoming ceremonies can also be the focus of this work. Longer term therapy can be continued after integration-focused sessions if desired. Integration sessions follow the same ethical and legal guidelines as therapy sessions, with a focus on integrating specific non-ordinary consciousness experiences. Please see Psychotherapy Sessions and Fees for more information.

Consciousness-expanding experiences are often misunderstood or even dismissed leaving some people without necessary support, validation and guidance. The goals of sessions are to release and reframe any challenging or traumatizing memories of the experience, make sense of messages and symbols, connect to creativity, and provide education around safety and risks. I do not offer psychedelic assisted psychotherapy at this time.

Energy Medicine Sessions and Fees

Sessions are 60 minutes in length  and are typically scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Energy medicine sessions focus on relaxation, visualization, meditation, stress reduction, and body awareness. Energy medicine and Reiki sessions follow the same ethical and legal guidelines as therapy sessions. Please see Therapy Sessions and Fees for more information.

I am a certified Reiki Master and have attended numerous trainings and workshops on somatic and shamanic energy practices and ethics. During the initial session, background information is gathered and potential goals are created. An energy session is offered to a fully clothed recipient who is lying on a treatment table, couch, or sitting in a chair. Light, non-invasive touch is provided with the practitioner's hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head, front and back of the torso, and limbs. The placement of the hands should never be intrusive or inappropriate, nor should there be any pressure. Hands can also be held completely off the body and/or distance healing is available.

Meditation Sessions and Fees

Sessions are 50 minutes in length  and are typically scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Meditation instruction and guidance can be short or long term, depending on an individual's goals and needs. Meditation sessions focus on exploring and practicing various types of meditation, learning about benefits and uses, creating a regular meditation practice, and increasing awareness around internal positive changes. Meditation sessions follow the same ethical and legal guidelines as therapy sessions. Please see Therapy Sessions and Fees for more information.

I guide clients through various styles of meditation including mindfulness, visualization, guided imagery, shamanic drumming, zen, transcendental, and sound healing techniques, to find favorite approaches. The ultimate goal is to create a waking meditation practice, one in which your formal meditation practice becomes seamlessly integrated into daily life.

Shamanic Ritual and Tarot Readings

Sessions are 45 to 60 minutes in length  and are typically scheduled collaboratively depending on needs and/or goals. Ritual and tarot readings can be utilized on a one-time basis, intermittently, or on a consistent schedule depending on an individual's goals and needs. The focus of sessions is highly personal, but many people choose to engage in ritual and/or tarot when there is a transition, a death, a birth, a new start, an end to something, or when feeling uncertain or stuck. Sessions follow the same ethical and legal guidelines as therapy sessions. Please see Therapy Sessions and Fees for more information.

Rituals can be facilitated by the clinician or collaboratively created and completed independently. The purpose and reasoning for ritual is typically discussed, as well as concepts of manifestation and release. Tarot readings are facilitated by the clinician, but ultimately it is the client who determines the message of the cards. I help decipher symbolism, metaphor, and general meanings of numbers, objects, and elements so that individuals can interpret their own, more genuine, answers to questions.

Services and Fees

Services can be completed via telemedicine video conferencing, but in-person sessions are recommended for these services.

Common Questions

How can therapy help me?
A number of benefits are available from participating in therapy. Therapists can provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief, stress management, body image issues and creative blocks. Many people also find that counselors can be a tremendous asset to managing personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, marriage issues, and the hassles of daily life. Therapists can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution. The benefits you obtain from therapy depend on how well you use the process and put into practice what you learn. Some of the benefits available from therapy include:

  • Attaining a better understanding of yourself, your goals and values

  • Developing skills for improving your relationships

  • Finding resolution to the issues or concerns that may have led you to seek therapy

  • Learning new ways to cope with stress and anxiety

  • Managing anger, grief, depression, and other emotional pressures

  • Improving communications and listening skills

  • Changing old behavior patterns and developing new ones

  • Discovering new ways to solve problems

  • Improving your self-esteem and boosting self-confidence

Do I really need therapy?  I can usually handle my problems.
Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support. Therapy isn't only for people who need help with specific challenges, but also for individuals who want more out of their lives--more peace, more happiness, more connection--and that is something to be admired. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you're at in life and making a commitment to change and/or improve the situation by seeking therapy. Therapy provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers, re-direct damaging patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

Why do people go to therapy and how do I know if it is right for me?
People have many different motivations for coming to therapy. Some may be going through a major life transition (unemployment, divorce, new job, pregnancy, death, etc.), or are not handling stressful circumstances well.  Some people need assistance managing a range of other issues such as low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship problems, spiritual conflicts and creative blocks.  Therapy can help provide some much needed encouragement and help with skills to get them through these periods.  Others may be at a point where they are ready to learn more about themselves or want to be more effective with their goals in life. In short, people seeking therapy are ready to meet the challenges in their lives and ready to make changes in their lives.

What is therapy like?
Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, therapy will be different depending on the individual.  In general, you can expect to engage in experiential techniques designed to increase awareness and acceptance, and to share progress (or any new insights or challenges) from the previous session.  Depending on your specific needs, therapy can be short-term, for a specific challenge or goal, or longer-term, to deal with more difficult patterns or your desire for more personal development.  Either way, it is most common to schedule regular sessions with your therapist (usually weekly).

It is important to understand that you will get more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process.  The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back into your life.  Therefore, beyond the work you do in therapy sessions, your therapist may suggest some things you can do outside of therapy to support your process - such as reading a pertinent book, journaling on specific topics, noting particular behaviors or taking action on your goals. People seeking therapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspectives and take responsibility for their lives.

What about medication vs. psychotherapy?
It is well established that the long-term solution to mental and emotional problems and the pain they cause cannot be solved solely by medication. Instead of just treating the symptom, therapy addresses the cause of our distress and the behavior patterns that curb our progress. You can best achieve sustainable growth and a greater sense of well-being with an integrative approach to wellness.  Working with your medical doctor you can determine what's best for you, and in some cases a combination of medication and therapy is the right course of action.

Do you take insurance, and how does that work?
To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them.  Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers.  Some helpful questions you can ask them:

  • What are my mental health benefits?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?

  • How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

  • Do you cover techniques such as energy medicine, meditation, sand play, expressive arts, and tarot?

Does what we talk about in therapy remain confidential?
Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and psychotherapist. Successful therapy requires a high degree of trust with highly sensitive subject matter that is usually not discussed anywhere but the therapist's office.   Every therapist should provide a written copy of their confidential disclosure agreement, and you can expect that what you discuss in session will not be shared with anyone.  This is called “Informed Consent”.  Sometimes, however, you may want your therapist to share information or give an update to someone on your healthcare team (your Physician, Naturopath, Attorney), but by law your therapist cannot release this information without obtaining your written permission.

However, state law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except for the following situations:

* Suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, and elders to the authorities, including Child Protection and law enforcement, based on information provided by the client or collateral sources.
* If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threatened to harm another person.

Why would I see a therapist for Reiki or meditation? What if I just want to engage in the techniques but don't need therapy?

In both my personal and clinical experience, I have found that a holistic approach is most effective for deep healing. People need to actually experience the sensation of peace and acceptance in order to create shifts, rather than simple talking about it theoretically and potentially "knowing" this to be true, but not "feeling" the truth. The techniques and tools I use, such as energy medicine and meditation, seem to be much more successful in allowing people to experience peace and healing, rather than simply talking about future goals or current challenges for an hour. However, with my background of training and experience, I am able to take people deeper and/or hold significant issues or traumas that may surface during these experiences, so people are able to move through these experiences fully. Being seen by a therapist also provides you with certain protections that are not necessarily available to those who see a practitioner who is not regulated by a governing board.
